![]() I enjoyed it to the point that I would consider getting another subscription down the road should they release a season 2. I only have HBONow right now because of Game of Thrones, but I had been waiting for this opportunity to watch Miss Sherlock as well. ![]() Course that leaves me wondering will there be a season 2? I truly hope so. I found myself loving everything about the show, wanting to try my hand at making Miss Sherlock’s cucumber toner (lol), it was ridiculously easy to marathon. Leaving us to fill in the missing details such as why? What were the actual steps taken to accomplish these crimes? What twists are they going to give us this time? The mysteries- The one hiccup about keeping to the heart of the stories is that those who know the stories already roughly know what the final outcome will be. She’s fun to watch on screen and trying to guess where her mind is going, and she does take steps to help Wato-san though she vehemently denies it. She also likes to touch things… everything. Going so far as we see her on multiple occasions ringing the doorbell and then stepping almost completely out of view of the door so someone else can take to the resident. She likes to take charge, however if it comes to talking to people first, she does not want to be the one to greet them. She dislikes loud noises, completely trying to distance herself from them to the point that I do believe she dissociates. Now this Sherlock has the same deduction skills and reasoning, but she has as a few quirks about her that we haven’t seen before. Now Sherlock is not Sherlock’s real name, but she decided to do so after something happened, though it is not disclosed as to what happened. She could easily be the main protagonist in many Japanese dramas but she really nicely counter balances Sherlock. Wato-san (yes I totally geeked out the first time they called her this) is very soft and gentle, dealing with trying to find her own way after returning home deciding to quit as a volunteer medical field person after the area she was working in was bombed over seas. Kimi Hotano is the landlady, and she is charming and a joy on the screen every time I see her. ![]() Both were renditions of ‘A study in Scarlet’, a story of vengeance, BBC Sherlock did not go the vengeance route, where as Miss Sherlock did and left me feel so incredibly sympathetic to the culprit as the original story had done. I got to see takes on some of the short stories from Sherlock that I hadn’t seen adaptations take and twist them so they were fresh, new, heart warming, but still echoed the original stories to their very core.Įxample of how Miss Sherlock did this better than BBC Sherlock was the first episode. ![]() Why does she think there’s something else behind it? Why does she demand with such urgency? All to set up the big bad organization that will be overarching through this short 8 episode season 1. But after confronting the culprit Sherlock demands to know who was behind it all, which made no sense with what I had read and seen on the screen. There was a moment near the end of the first episodes that I was honestly freaking out, not in the good way, but there’s a chance that something was lost in translation. Firstly I really really love this logo and really wanted to share it.Īlright so Miss Sherlock, Japanese take on Sherlock Holmes, and I can see A LOT of inspiration from how BBC Sherlock did theirs. ![]()
